Professional Experience

Emily has provided individual, family and marital counseling services since 2012. Her experience includes helping women of all ages with issues of self-esteem, identity, body image and the treatment of disordered eating habits and thoughts. Additionally, Emily has experience working with grief, bereavement and trauma situations within a hospital setting, including working with clients undergoing rehabilitation and geriatric clients. She is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults.

Approach to Therapy

Emily has a diverse approach to the therapeutic process, employing various modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused, Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy. Emily uses these clinical modalities, but filters things through a Biblical worldview and is open to integrating faith into the counseling session, but will never impose bringing topics of faith into a session with a client unless the client so chooses.

About Emily

Emily is a native Charlottean. She spent six years in the public relations industry before God called her to ministry as a counselor in 2007. She enjoys any athletic activity, traveling and spending time with her family, which includes a younger brother and sister-in-law, her mother and her husband. Emily lives with her husband in Charlotte.
